Hygienist
Modern dental care is much more than simply using a tooth brush!
Our Dental Hygienists is able to help in the management and servicing of your gums and tooth supporting tissues.
Bernice Mitchell,Laura Rea, Angelina Dixon, Kerry Stewart and Shannon Clark are experienced hygienists and allow us to offer comprehensive care for our patients. In perspective, a vast majority of patients have lost a vast majority of teeth in the past due to the effects of gum disease (or pyorrhoea) and now we know that the early diagnosis and efficient treatment of this will help resolve the problem.
All the hygienists are very proactive within the practice and help organise and stock our Dental Care Products shop as well as arrange special events and offers throughout the year.

Childrens
We are pleased to be able to offer high class dental care for your children either under an NHS agreement or privately. NHS dental care for children is provided free of any charges.
We strongly advise the regular attendance of children to allow excellent dental health from an early age. Current preventive treatments pave the way for your child to progress into adulthood without teeth laden with fillings.
Our team of dentists are highly trained in identifying early risk of decay and gum disease in children. We will also monitor closely tooth position, with a significant proportion of children needing the help of an orthodontists to correct abnormal tooth positioning. Our in house digital scanning equipment allows your child to be closely monitored for developing crowding and any rare pathology.

Check ups are usually advised on a six monthly basis at which time we are able to spot any signs of decay or gum disease. Modern filling materials allow the option of a mouth free of any silver amalgam fillings. Our team of hygienists are also at hand should any major problems with tooth cleaning and gum disease arise.
We have particular skills in the care of nervous children and having overcome such issues at an age we are often rewarded with worry free patients for life.


Orthodontic treatment
Orthodontic treatment is now available at the Heaton Road Surgery on Wednesday mornings.
Peter Maguire is a visiting dentists with a special interest in Orthodontics who can advise upon and carry out the full range of orthodontic treatments for adults and children.
Generally this service is only available for patients registered within our practice, but Peter does accept referrals from other general dental practitioners.
