Radiographs

Early tooth decay often does not show many physical signs. Often a dentist will be able to pick up from an x-ray decay under the enamel, bone loss around the tooth and possible infection around the tooth. X-rays help see in between the teeth and under the fillings you have. Finding and treating dental problems early can save time and money.

How Often? If you are new we will advise x-rays. After this we usually recommend them every 6 months-24 months, depending on personal history of decay, age and condition of mouth. In children x-rays can show any teeth that have not come through yet. They can also be used to assess the position of impacted wisdom teeth.
